Creating Projects

Organize your flows into logical groups using projects.

Default Project

When you sign up for FlowLens, a default project is automatically created for you using your name. This gives you a workspace to start capturing flows right away.

What are Projects?

Projects help you organize flows by product, feature, team, or any other logical grouping. Each project can have multiple team members with different permission levels.

Creating Additional Projects

You can create more projects to organize different workflows or work with different teams:

  1. Click the project dropdown in the top navigation
  2. Select “Create New Project”
  3. Enter a project name and description
  4. Click “Create”

Once created, you can start organizing flows into this project and invite team members to collaborate.

Project Limits

Each user can be part of a maximum of 3 projects total by default (either as creator or invited member).

Need more than 3 projects? Contact us at flowlens@magentic.ai

Managing Your Projects

You can customize and manage your project settings at any time. Click the settings icon next to the project dropdown to access project settings where you can:

  • Change your project name - Give it a meaningful name that reflects what you’re working on
  • Update the description - Add context about what this project is for

Open Source Projects

Open source projects work a bit differently. These are community projects that:

  • Can be joined via invitation links
  • Don’t count toward your 3-project limit
  • Are designed for public collaboration
  • Support unlimited collaborators

If you’re working on an open source project, you can invite as many collaborators as needed without worrying about the usual restrictions.

Creating an Open Source Project

To create an open source project, you’ll need to contact Magentic’s support team:

  • Email: flowlens@magentic.ai
  • Provide details about your project and collaboration needs
  • The support team will help set up your open source project

Tip: Use open source projects for public repositories or community-driven work where you need broader collaboration.
